Tell us, how has mentumm accelerator helped you as an entrepreneur?
2020 was a very challenging year for our marketing agency and mentumm accelerator helped me re-think how we managed our finances, how to better align employee success with the success of our business by introducing profit-sharing, and helped me be successful in bringing in a new President to manage the day-to-day operations of the agency.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I was motivated by financial independence at an early age. I wanted to build a business where I don’t need to be present for it to operate smoothly and efficiently, and with the right people on your team, I fully believe this lifestyle is achievable. I’ve been able to make the most progress toward this goal this year thanks to the help of my team at mentumm accelerator who have provided me new ideas for streamlining our processes across HR, Accounting, Finance, and Operations.
What would you tell your younger, entrepreneurial self?
Don’t wait to start a business. Just do it as soon as you can! I had this limiting belief that I needed to build something on the side of my salaried job and once this “side hustle” was able to pay me more than my salaried job THEN I would switch over to the full-time entrepreneur life. In reality, this is so hard to do and SO MUCH easier to pour everything into your business when you can focus on it every day, all day. Secondly, I would tell myself… it’s going to be SO hard. Especially the first couple of years. But you will be so proud of yourself. Stay the course!
If you had an extra hour each day of uninterrupted work time, how would you spend it?
Building more partnerships and speaking with other marketing agency owners about some of their challenges and learnings.
